I'm ridiculously comfortable immersed in a scene waiting for the photograph to unfold before me.  It is in these moments I am alone, but not lonely...some notice me, some do not, some make eye contact married with a amiable smile and some even stop to engage in conversation like I was an old friend.  I believe we are part of something bigger, yet embracing the responsibility to allow our individuality to shine just enough to stand out in the crowd.  Each one of these subjects are integrated into the scene, yet, they made me feel like they were the only one's among a sea of people...lost in the moment, content in their own company just like me.

For me,  photography offers the feeling of being home; especially when photographing subjects with courage, gentleness, honesty, genuine joy and unconditional love.  Horses and dogs have been the best mentors I could have ever asked for  because they deepened my ability to laugh, to trust, to understand  and to be patient.  They taught me, to create excellent photographs, one must allow the subject to become the main character then it's almost as if the images are created by themselves.  Every assignment is different...a very valuable experience, without I would not be the photographer I am today.  This is where my photographic journey began and for that I will always be grateful.
