it started in the barn...
While working towards my MFA at Carlow College, I purchased a Canon 40D camera as a writing tool. At the time, all I knew was writing and horses, but really didn't know one iota about photography. The photos I was capturing were intended to be my inspiration to find the words for writing assignments and scenes for my memoir. After thousands of shutter clicks, I learned that I could tell a story with one photograph. Who-da-thunk, the words I was writing would turn around to become my inspiration for photography. I fell head over heels in love with candidly capturing everyday moments...around the barn, ringside at horse shows which inevitably led me to keep my camera with me 24/7 to find my voice as a photographer. I believe learning the craft was half the battle then the other half of the battle was marketing myself. In all honesty, I've spent my whole life on a creative journey to discover my place...it just so happens that photography was the road less traveled.
